FAQs and Topical Issues On Demand Webinar Series from 2016

The Tax Frequently Asked Questions and Topical Issues from 2016 webinar series will consider the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions the CCH/TEO Question and Answer Service received during 2016.

The CCH/TEO Question and Answer Service allows practitioners to submit questions on the day-to-day tax issues that arise in the course of their practice.  From the thousands of questions submitted to the service during the year, we have identified some of the questions that practitioners seek answers for on a regular basis.  Using case studies based on the questions submitted to the CCH/TEO Question and Answer Service, this webinar series will answer some of these frequently asked questions. In answering these questions this webinar series will discuss the general tax law and principles that apply to each topic, meaning participants will not only receive answers to the specific questions addressed, but will also be provided with the knowledge to address similar questions they may encounter in their day-to-day practice.

Some of the frequently asked questions this webinar series will answer include:
  • Is the profit on the sale of the residential property taxable under the Bright-line test?
  • Do we need to register and account for GST on the sale of the property?
  • How is my client’s pay out from their United Kingdom superannuation fund taxed in New Zealand?
  • Can Company A offset its loss against Company B’s profit?
  • Is the capital gain my client’s Australian trust distributed to him taxable in New Zealand?
